Job Summary

The Billing Specialist prepares and maintains the financial records and performs related  bookkeeping tasks. Job tasks involves review and generate invoices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and approve invoices for completeness and accuracy
  • Identify, research and resolve invoice delivery issues in a timely manner
  • Assist in researching customer billing inquiries and/or disputes
  • Collaborates and communicate with other team members to ensure efficiency of processes
  • Assist with updating and improving documentation of policies and procedures related to assigned responsibilities
  • Provide solutions to any relative problems of clients
  • Write thorough reports on billing activity with clear and reliable data

  • Ability to perform research and see issues/discrepancies through to resolution

Minimum Qualifications

  • Dependable and adaptable to a fast-paced work environment
  • 2 years previous billing or similar experience, preferably in a software or technology environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to manage high-stress situations while meeting month-end deadlines
  • Be successful in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong customer service skills and written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently in a team environment
  • Experience in using multiple systems and knowledge of Microsoft office

 

HIPAA/Compliance

  • Maintain privacy of all patient, customers, employee and volunteer information, and access such information only on a need to know basis for business purposes.
  • Comply with all regulations regarding corporate integrity and security obligations
  • Report unethical, fraudulent or unlawful behavior or activity
  • Maintain current and yearly HIPAA certification.
