SHDS is a rapidly growing health information provider based in San Diego with operations across the nation. With over 700 employees and revenues more than $50 million, the ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment as a key member of a five-person general accounting department.
SHDS is a wholly-owned Subsidiary of Sharecare, Inc. a private, Atlanta-based web-oriented health information company whose founders include Jeff Arnold, founder of WebMD, and Dr. Mehmet Oz.
Essential Job Functions
- General accounting functions such as Accounts Payable, Bank Reconciliations and Budgeting.
- Prepare monthly close of books
- Sales tax compliance
- Revenue recognition
- Responsible for General Ledger
- Monitor reserve accounts & short-term fund investments.
- Research and Reconcile all discrepancies.
- Auditing & Verifying Documents.
- Financial and Profitability analysis on a requested basis.
- Assist all management to ensure completion of project milestones.
- Prepare Month-end, Quarter-end and Year-end closing.
- Researching accounting rules and regulations and making recommendations regarding company policy.
- Maintenance of Financial Reporting systems supporting GAAP and statutory basis accounting.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Excellent computer skills – Word, Outlook
- Power user of Excel desirable
- Working Knowledge of Great Plains Management Report (FRX) desirable
- Direct experience and maintenance of General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Payroll Systems.
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential materials and information in a professional manner
- Excellent verbal and written skills necessary for communication with staff
- Reliable transportation
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Physical ability to lift and carry 25 lbs. of materials
- Manual dexterity and strength sufficient enough to enter information via computer keyboard for long periods of time, to write notes and information needed, and to pick up and hold paperwork, supplies and other items.
- Eyesight sufficient to effectively read documents and to accurately view information on a computer monitor
- Speaking and hearing ability sufficient to effectively communicate.
- Eye/hand coordination, hearing and visual acuity necessary for day to day tasks
